First games and First League game

Note: Friday's Game vs Pottsgrove has been rescheduled for today(Thursday). Friday will be a practice day

Game #1 vs. Antietam:
The first 5 minutes were slow as we attempted to judge their play. Finally we picked up our tempo and pressure and began to control the game. It was nice for us score first and make them come back. We started to click and click nicely we did. Even in the last 10 minutes of the game when I told everyone to just play possession and only shoot if you were clear worked very nice. We have nice movement off the ball and 2 in support most of the time. Most importantly - almost no one was just standing. We were all moving. Our communications were good also. I could hear most of the players during the game.
Cafferello has a hat trick. Kane and Reilly (I think – I have to check) also score.
W 5-3. Game grade B+.

Game #2 vs. Palmyra:
We started flat and so slow.
They were masters of the one touch game. We were the masters of watching them play the one touch game.
They talked to each other and they listened. What little talking there was – ceased after 10 minutes.
They moved off the ball. We just followed instead of anticipating and moving in between.
They ran with the ball. We ran BEHIND them.
I kept asking myself, was this team on the field the same one that won the first game?
Where was our consistency?
What happened to our team work?
They were a better team.
Gray scores our only goal.
L 11-1. Game grade F.

First League Game vs Upper Perk.
Score at half 0-0.
They were slow. We were S L O W E R. What have I been complaining about during practices?
We were behind someone in almost very play. That means we did not step to the ball.
We had air balls hit the ground. What were we afraid of?
The number of successful double teams I could count on one hand.
Talking was almost nonexistent. Listening was even worse.
When we got the ball – almost no one in support – no one checking to or moving to space.
When someone carries through – did we cover for them? Nope.
Did we in earnest fight for the ball? Nope.
Did we play with desire? Nope.
Did we use any of the plays in the game that we practiced the day before? Nope.
Did we execute any of our free kick or corner kick plays successfully? Nope.
Did we have a chance to use them in the game? Yeap – plenty of times.

Upper Perk scores 18 minutes into the second half. Once again there was no cover for the defender.
Upper Perk scores in the 36th minute of the second half on a breakaway. Why did they have a breakaway?
We finally get inspired and score with a header (Gray, assist Reilly) in the 38th minute.
Thanks to Gray for the foresight to run the ball up to the circle and not waste time.
What happens within the next minute? Upper Perk scores on yet another breakaway.
We score again in the final minute (Gray, assist Budnick) but it’s too late.
We need to fix these problems. Fast.
We have the talent and the skill. Do we have the desire?
L 3-2. Game grade D. Overall record: 1-2. pac10: 0-1.
