Things look promising.
Very good group of freshmen.
Lost 2 already with one leaving after the first hour. Saw him on the phone during a player water break. Others said that he was quiting. Looked over and he was gone. Not one word from him. I guess he was too afraid for some reason. Never had that happen before. The other quit after day 1 and was decent enough to send me an email. Thank you.
Numbers are good about 38.
Some of the JV players from last year have been working hard. You know who you are. Whereas others - you guessed it - hardly worked.
From what I have seen - I have 9 slots open for now. I also have one on vacation that will be on JV until he proves himself. Could be as many as 3 freshmen on varsity this year.
Lots of ball touches, dribbling and small sided games. Support, support support and team work.
Some seniors still do not get it. Had to punish them today - just making them sit. If they just use that energy in their play and leadership skills - then there would be no problem.
** Please remember to stretch every hour all day and keep moving. Do not be a couch potato or just sit playing xbox all afternoon. You will pay for it tomorrow.
** Ice anything that seems sore.
Support : always having 3 in support.
Movement: on and off the ball.
When in trouble with the ball - what do you do? Where is the space?
Tomorrow: running, and fixing the first touch problem.
Keyword for Wednesday during warm up is 180. This will get you ONE 'get out of punishment' card.
