Phoenixville - 3
SPX -1
We started a little tepid. Got confidence after our first shot. Our defense was a little wobbly at times by doing some dumb things. It seemed that with each minute of the game that passed we stepped to the ball less and less until the second half when I only had about 3 players stepping to the ball while the other 7 watched and watched some more. Tried making subs to incite the team but the fresh player fell into the same trance. It was like watching MTV and I hate MTV.
Some players played their hearts out (Kane, Kelly and I'll give Hill and Reilly 3/4 of a point). The others watched and waited. Phoenixville came to play just the last 15 minutes and we let them. We had the better talent but left it somewhere....... Maybe we were just a little tired.... but teams with character can reach up and play on with that desire to win. With that desire not to quit. With that desire, period.
This was another W that we let get away.
It is games like this - the last 15 minutes that make me want to retire. It just makes me nuts that we just revert back to bad playing habits - again.
Just remember - we play them again on Monday and the score better be just the opposite.
There are 6 games left before I have to make a decision about districts.
Are you going to be consistent in your play?
Are you going to listen to your team mates?
Are you going to trust your team mates?
Are you going to do what they tell you?
Are you finally going to throw out those bad playing habits once and for all?
I do not mind losing to a better team. This was not one of them.
In 9 games I have only seem one that was better than us.
One.
For Today's game I am going to rest most of the starters.
League record 2-5-1
Overall 2-6-1
